We’d like to thank Joe, Ginger and the entire Bay 13 team for a wonderful evening. The sushi, wine and atmosphere were lovely. Everyone had a great time!

If you’re looking for a site for your wedding reception, bridal shower or other event, definitely check out Bay 13. They have lovely event facilities, great event coordinators and a delicious menu.

We recently introduced the new event space at Andina, but have since gotten this great photo.

A Gathering Space
Tupai, borrowed from the Quechua word for “gathering space,” will accommodate up to 60 guests for a seated dinner and 100 guests for a stand-up reception or cocktail party. The menu will feature Andina’s NovoAndean cuisine, which combines traditional flavors and ingredients native to Peru with a global reach that draws from Spanish, Japanese and Cantonese culinary influences. Dishes are prepared using modern technique and presented with finesse and flair. The full bar will deliver both Andina’s classic and NovoAndean cocktails – from the Pisco Sour and Caipirinha to the Sacsayhuamán and Granada de Amor. Wines will be chosen from Andina’s award-winning list with the help of wine director Ken Collura.

Tupai features include:

* Fully stocked cocktail and wine bar

* Dedicated state-of-the-art kitchen

* Mezzanine space for musical performances or VIP seating

* Incan design motifs carved into a backlit floor-to-ceiling wall; hand-made oversized pendants

* Natural elements ranging from natural light to exposed brick, 20 foot ceilings and original wooden beams

* Prix-fixe and custom menus featuring Andina’s nationally recognized NovoAndean cuisine

* High-speed internet access, in-house projection and screens

Here’s a little exciting dish for brides who want a wedding reception with unique flavor. Andina Restaurant, a well-known Peruvian hot spot has opened an event space called Tupai.

Tupai features a dedicated kitchen and full-service bar, and an open space with natural light, exposed brick and Incan-inspired architecture that can be customized for any size or type of event – from intimate dinners and business presentations to cocktail parties and wedding receptions with live music and bar service. Tupai opens for private events beginning March 26, 2008. For a tour of Tupai, please contact Jennifer Clegg at 503-228-9535 x 206.

Just past Clyde Common is The Cleaners—an event space named after the previous occupants, Peacock Drycleaners. This wide open space is the ultimate blank canvas for weddings. It’s outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows, surround sound speakers, high blank walls, lofted ceiling, beautifully restored hardwood fir floors, gallery style lighting, high quality AV system with DJ plug-ins and DJ booth, and wrap around window seating.

The Cleaners and Clyde Common are located in the Ace Hotel.

The Clyde is sending members of its stellar bartending staff to represent both The Cleaners and Clyde Common Catering at the Perfectly Pearl modern bridal event this Saturday. I hear they will be serving complimentary champagne sorbet cocktails. Stop by the bar (3rd floor of Ecotrust) to learn more about both of these businesses.

Park Weddings in the Pearl February 14, 2008

The Pearl District has several parks (Tanner Springs Park, Jamison Square and the North Park Blocks) that are available to rent as your wedding site. Please note that permits are required for weddings in Portland Parks. Download the Portland Parks Wedding Brochure for the rules, rates and more information.

The following photos of a wedding in Tanner Springs Park were provided by Holland Studios. As evidenced by the photos, Tanner Springs Park offers a striking backdrop for the modern outdoor wedding.

Read more about Tanner Springs Park at the Portland Parks & Recreation website.
